1. Service Description

RiskZone ("Service," "we," "us," or "our") is a web-based platform and browser extension that provides environmental, natural hazard, and community risk indicators for locations in the regions supported by the Service. The Service aggregates publicly available data from government agencies and open data sources to generate Risk Passports — composite risk assessments with category-level scores and supporting analytics.

RiskZone is a product name. The operator of the Service is identified in the legal disclosure on this page.

The Service is provided for informational purposes only. RiskZone does not provide professional risk assessment, real estate appraisal, insurance underwriting, or legal advice. Risk indicators are estimated values based on available datasets and should not be treated as guarantees of safety or danger for any location. Users should independently verify information and consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on data provided by the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

The Service may be accessed globally, but analytical coverage is limited to supported regions and varies by location. Not all risk categories are available in every country or area.

3. User Accounts

You may access limited features of the Service without creating an account. To access additional features, you must register for an account using a valid email address and password, or through a supported third-party authentication provider (Google or Apple).

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Account deletion is permanent and will remove your profile data, saved places, and passport history. If a paid subscription is active, we attempt immediate cancellation through Paddle during account deletion. If cancellation cannot be completed automatically, you may need to cancel in Paddle first and retry account deletion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service or help anyone else do so. In particular, you will not, and will not attempt to:
- Access or search the Service by any means other than our publicly available interfaces (for example, automated scraping, crawling, or data mining).
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or scoring models of the Service.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any security, rate-limiting, or access-control features of the Service.
- Use the Service to build a product or service that competes with RiskZone, or to assist a direct competitor in doing so.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any RiskZone system or network.
- Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code through or to the Service.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation, or to infringe the rights of others.
- Share, sell, resell, or sublicense your account credentials or subscription access to any third party.
- Generate bulk or automated requests that exceed the fair-use limits of your subscription tier.

We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns to ensure compliance with these restrictions and may employ technical measures to enforce usage limits.

5. Subscription Terms

The Service currently offers multiple consumer plans with different access levels and usage limits:

- Free: limited access to Risk Passports, AI location chat, detailed analytics, and scoring preferences.
- Home Search Pack: a paid monthly plan for focused home search, with higher passport limits, saved places, location comparison, PDF export, detailed analytics, and scoring preferences.
- Plus: higher limits than Home Search Pack, with monthly, quarterly, or annual billing options.
- Premium: our highest current consumer tier, with the largest passport and saved-place limits and priority support.

Usage limits may include passports per day, passports per month, saved places, location comparison limits, and AI chat message limits. Current limits and pricing are described on our Pricing page at riskzone.ai/pricing and/or in the product interface and may be adjusted from time to time.

Passport usage is generally measured by unique locations rather than raw request count. Repeated requests for the same location may not consume additional passport quota within the applicable tracking window. On the Free tier, repeat requests for a location already viewed during the relevant calendar day or month generally do not consume additional passport quota. On paid tiers, locations already viewed within the prior 30 days generally do not consume additional passport quota.

We may modify plan features, limits, eligibility requirements, and pricing from time to time. Price changes do not affect the current billing period and apply on renewal. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-product notice before they take effect where required by applicable law.

6. Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

Paid plans automatically renew at the end of the applicable billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Home Search Pack is billed monthly. Plus and Premium may be offered on monthly, quarterly, or annual billing cycles, as shown at checkout or on the Pricing page. You will be charged the then-current rate presented by Paddle at renewal.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard and, where available, through the Paddle billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until that date.

If you upgrade your subscription, the change usually takes effect immediately and may be billed on a prorated basis for the remainder of the current billing period. If you downgrade, the change is generally scheduled for the start of your next billing period, and you keep your current higher-tier access until the scheduled change becomes effective.

If a payment fails or becomes past due, subscription features may be suspended, limited, or downgraded until billing is resolved.

7. Refund Policy

You may request a full refund within 14 days of any charge. To request a refund, contact us at the email address listed in Section 19 with your account email, the date and amount of the charge, and a brief description of the reason. We aim to respond within 10 business days.

Refunds are processed through Paddle. Upon refund, your subscription access reverts to the Free tier (or is terminated if your account was deleted) on the date the refund is issued. No prorated access is provided for the refunded period.

Statutory consumer rights to refunds under applicable law remain unaffected.

8. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), which acts as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, tax calculation and collection, and payment processing.

At checkout, Paddle presents the final amount payable, including applicable taxes based on your location. Charges are billed in the currency shown by Paddle at checkout.

You are responsible for providing accurate and current payment information. If a payment fails, your subscription may be suspended or downgraded to the Free tier until payment is resolved.

9. Data Usage & Accuracy

The Service aggregates data from publicly available government sources including, but not limited to, USGS, EPA, FEMA, NOAA, FBI, NHTSA, CDC, and NRC, as well as open data providers. An overview of major data sources and public-facing attribution information is available on our Data Sources and Licenses pages.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any data presented through the Service. Risk indicators, scores, and grades are derived from computational models and statistical methods applied to available datasets. Results depend on data availability, reporting coverage, refresh cadence, and model assumptions.

Specifically, you acknowledge that:
- Data may be outdated, incomplete, or unavailable for certain locations or categories.
- Scores and risk levels are relative indicators, not absolute measures of risk.
- The Service does not account for all possible risk factors that may affect a location.
- Information should not be used as the sole basis for real estate, insurance, relocation, or safety decisions.

The AI-powered location chat feature provides conversational responses based on available risk data. Chat responses are generated by third-party large language models and may contain inaccuracies. Chat output is informational only and does not constitute professional advice.

10. Browser Extension Functionality

If you use the RiskZone browser extension and enable the setting "Detect addresses on pages," the extension may access limited webpage content needed to identify listing addresses and related location context and to provide extension features such as detected-location lists, Risk Passport requests, and on-page indicators. On supported real estate sites, this page analysis may occur automatically while you browse those sites. On other webpages, certain extension actions may analyze the active tab only after you interact with the extension.

The separate setting "Show overlays on pages" controls only whether visual interface elements, such as badges or buttons, are displayed on supported pages. Disabling "Detect addresses on pages" turns off the page analysis used for address extraction. All extension outputs remain informational only and depend on available webpage data, supported sites, data coverage, and model assumptions.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, software, algorithms, scoring methodology, user interface, and documentation, is owned by RiskZone and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Underlying data sourced from government agencies and open data providers is subject to the respective licenses and terms of those sources. Our aggregation, analysis, scoring models, and presentation of such data constitute original work.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on the Service or its output without our prior written consent. You may use Risk Passport results for your personal, non-commercial purposes, including sharing individual reports. Systematic scraping, automated bulk access, or redistribution of Service output is prohibited.

RiskZone is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency, real estate platform, or data provider referenced within the Service.

12. Feedback

We appreciate feedback, suggestions, ideas, and other submissions ("Feedback") from our users. By submitting Feedback to RiskZone, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and incorporate such Feedback into our products and services without any obligation or compensation to you.

You acknowledge that we may already be developing or may independently develop ideas or features similar to your Feedback, and that nothing in these Terms restricts our right to do so.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RISKZONE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

You expressly acknowledge that RiskZone is not responsible for any decisions you make based on information provided by the Service, including but not limited to real estate transactions, relocation decisions, insurance coverage, or emergency preparedness.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RiskZone and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your unlawful use of the Service; or (c) your infringement of third-party rights.

In the event of such a claim, we will provide reasonable notice to the contact information associated with your account, provided that any failure to deliver such notice shall not reduce your indemnification obligations under this section.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service where reasonably necessary, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or applicable law.
- Abusive, fraudulent, or excessively automated use of the Service.
- Non-payment of subscription fees.
- Conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the Service.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before or promptly after any suspension or termination, except where prohibited by law or where immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users.

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Data associated with your account may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your dashboard. If you have an active paid subscription, cancellation of the subscription is separate from account deletion.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Tbilisi, Georgia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter amicably through good-faith negotiation for a period of at least 30 days before initiating any court proceedings.

Refund requests under our refund policy (Section 7) should be directed to us at the contact details provided in Section 19. Payment disputes, chargebacks, and billing inquiries are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited as the Merchant of Record and are subject to Paddle's own dispute resolution procedures and terms.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable consumer protection laws of your country of residence that cannot be waived by agreement.

17. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable subscription terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and RiskZone regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

No Waiver. The failure of RiskZone to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by RiskZone.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them, in whole or in part, without our prior written consent. RiskZone may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, at any time without notice to you.

Force Majeure. RiskZone shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, power or network outages, or disruptions to third-party data sources upon which the Service depends.

Section Headings. The section titles in these Terms are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Notify registered users via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Where required by applicable law, or when changes materially affect your rights or obligations, we may require you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use certain features.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription.
